Chocolate Buddha's butter-soft fabrics have been 4 years in development with our weavers, knitters, dyers and printers here in England. Our gorgeously soft yarn is made from Botanical Micro Modal which comes from sustainable beechwood forests. The thread is spun where the beech trees thrive in northern and central Europe. Once the thread arrives at our mill in the midlands, gifted teams of dedicated weavers, knitters, dyers and printers work their magic to produce a fabric so soft that you’ll never want to take it off!
These family-run businesses are so traditional and dyed-in-the-wool (pun intended), that they have little or no internet presence, and so many of our best contacts were made by driving to the historical manufacturing districts and knocking on the doors of mill buildings that had escaped conversion to apartments and asking do you still weave/dye/print here?. Some did, and those that didn't were very friendly and referred us on.
One of our mills has been on the same site since 1881 and, at that time shared its building with a confectioner. Which makes Chocolate Buddha's Rock Candy collection a lovely barley-twist of fate.
